2nd Place - almost 1st

Meet the Kicker Bockers.  This is who I hung out with every Friday night since April.  You could find us at the Murray Park softball field.  When I would tell most people that I was on a kickball league they would just laugh and say they haven't played that game since elementary school. But you would be surprised at how competitive some people get.

We had a pretty good team.  We won, loss and tied. When it came time for tournament we were in 6th place standing.  We played teams that we had already beat before so not problem right?  Right! We did beat them.  We made it all the way to the final game.  We played "the white team" no body likes "the white team". They are good, cocky, and super competitive.  I didn't like playing them at all.  We were ahead most the game and they had last ups and took the lead.  But it was a fun game.

We did get 2nd place and that's better than 6th place.  We had so much fun, and I'm really going to miss the people and playing.  To congratulate us on our 2nd place we got medals.  Pretty Awesome!

This isn't everyone some people are missing, but this is everyone who stuck it out in the hot sun and horrible wind and played so great!

We want the Osmonds

So the Osmonds came to town.  And you better believe I was there.

West Jordan City is awesome this summer, they are doing a summer concert series, they are all benefit concerts for Olive Osmond Hearing Foundation.  Clay Walker came in May, that was so fun, I love his music.  The Osmonds in June, the rodeo and pageant in July, Jodi Masena in August, and Collin Ray in September.  Its what summer is. And lucky for us, we live right across the street from it all.

Sadly the night of the concert was my little sister's ballet concert, so my mom who would have loved to be there couldn't, so being the great children that we are went for her, it was almost as if she was there...almost.

Caleb went early to save seats, because my aunt Helen (another devoted fan) was coming as well.  He said it was funny, once the doors opened it was a stampede of ladies racing to the front of the arena hoping to get a good seat.

It was such a fun concert.  I knew almost all of the songs, thats what happens when your parents play them on road trips and such.  This is actually the second Osmond concert I've been too, and it was just as fun the second time.  The opening act was Osmond 2nd generation.  I was pleasantly surprised.  They did a really good job and were great performers.  It was really neat when they brought their dad, Allen Osmond on to the stage with them.

When the 3 Osmond Brothers came out the crowd went crazy.  Some ladies ran up to the stage with cameras and banners.  It was great.  They put on a great show.  It was fun to be there on a beautiful summer night.   They ended the night with fireworks.

Waiting for the show!

Here they are ladies and gentleman.

As you can see, all the ladies crowded up by the stage.

This how Helen enjoyed the concert, just kidding.  The speakers were really loud for a couple songs.

Practically the family singing, "He aint heavy, he's my brother"

It was great!

whoa

You know it's been a long time when you don't even recognize blogger and how to create a post.

Life around here has been pretty great with the sun shining and summer in full swing.  The past couple months have been full of weddings, family, concerts and fun.

A couple weeks ago I drove up to Rexburg for Sister Jacobson now Pond's wedding.  Sister J was my advisor and dear friend up at BYU-Idaho.  She was able to come down and be there when I went through the temple, and I've gone and stayed with her at her house.  We can always talk for hours and a conversation can go from laughing to crying because things are wonderful.  She finally found her sweetheart and was married on June 2nd.  It was fun because I was in the temple the exact time she was, but I was doing inititory.

The fun continued that day while shot gun shooting with Hayley and Justin.  I had never been before, but have wanted to.  I didn't realize how hard the kick back is in the gun while shooting.  I hit a clay pigeon on my first shot but it must have been a fluke because it didn't happen again.  I love spending time with Hayley, she's one of those friends I can get together with and no matter how long it's been since we've seen each other it's so comfortable and uplifting.

I also got to spend some quality time with Hannah, it was a busy weekend for her but she was kind enough to come to the reception with me and we had some good laughs over Little Cesaer's Pizza for dinner.  She's having a good time up at school and it makes me a little jealous, but not the fact that she has homework.

The reception was classy and beautiful.  I knew that the whole town would be there. Sister J is loved by all.  We waited in line for 30+ mins.  It was so fun to give her a hug and wish her well.  You could tell she was compete with her new husband by her side and was completely happy.

After the reception the fun didn't stop.  Kimberly and Tom picked me up and we headed out to St. Anthony's to Wes and Mandy's house for games.  That was so fun.  We laughed so so so hard. The later it got of course the funnier it got. Who knew the crazy things you can come up with while playing "In a Pickle". It felt so good to be around these wonderful people.  It was fun to  reminisce a little bit about our college days and it fun to see where we are all now but still great friends and always will be.    We didn't leave there until 12:30 am.  Then Kimberly and I stayed up just like old times talking till 2:00 am.  I about died the next day I was so tired.  We definitely aren't in college anymore.  But it was wonderful none the less.

Sunday morning we enjoyed breakfast and I said goodbye and headed off to Sacrament meeting with Hannah.  Then I was on the road.  The drive was beautiful, and I was listening to different devotionals and conference talks.  The last 24 hours had been  absolutely wonderful.

Caucus 2012

This past Thursday I experienced something new.  The Republican Caucus.  Just like many many others my dad and I flocked to the nearest middle school and was crammed into a small classroom.  It was so fun to have so many people there.  I must admit I felt a little out of place being a young adult but I also took a little bit of pride in that fact as well.

It started out calm and casual.  Then as time went on it got more exciting and discussion got more heated.  It was so fun to see the work of the constitution into play.  Checks and balances.  I almost wish we were in black robes wearing white wigs.  I admit that I was very surprised by some of my friends and neighbors view and opinion.  But thats the great thing about America, we vote and we don't have to all vote the same. I was surprised by how people presented themselves, some wanted my vote but were very wishy washy.  And I loved the fact that when someone finally stood up and stated exactly who he wanted, he got the majority of the vote.

This was a fun experience, and one day I would like to be a state delegate and go to the convention.  I love being involved and being an active community member.  What a blessing it is to live in a free country, and have this right to have our voice heard.

Feeling Lucky

It's been a month....so lets pick up where we left off.

Valentines was great.  A DELICIOUS dinner at Flemming's Steak House, probably the best steak and potatoes I've ever eaten.  Then surprised out of my mind with the Lady Antebellum concert. WOW!!! I couldn't believe it.   I enjoyed giving and receiving Valentines and just celebrating Love all around.

February 15 - Another surprise with tickets to the US Premiere of Zorro the musical.  Oh my goodness, loved it. If you haven't gone to see get your tickets now!!

BYU basketball season ended....it was a fun time.  Oh how I love those boys!! Oh and the Jimmer gave me a High Five!!

I had a couple days off work so I took a little road trip up to Rexburg.  It was so great.  I put up an ad on the ride board so I took 3 passengers with me to help pay for gas.  I was able to spend some time with Hannah, and just go visit friends, advisors, and teachers.  It was a practically perfect trip.  I had no obligations, and it was fun be the visitor--everyone is happy to see you.  I hadn't really been back on campus since I graduated.  And I admit that this was the first time that I haven't wished I was back in school.  Yes I loved my time at BYU-Idaho as a student, but I'm happy and love where I am now.  Not that I've been unhappy this whole time, thats not the case at all.  It's just it was different this time.  I'm not longer in that chapter of my life.  But I still love to visit.  I loved loved loved going to the temple in Rexburg.  I saw that temple come from the ground up, I helped during the open house and was there for the dedication.  It was a beautiful experience to go back.  Sadly I didn't any pictures.

Loving this weather! I got my scooter out this past weekend. BLISS!!!

Life is good!
