DC Continued....because you haven't had enough

My whole time in DC two years ago I never went up to the top of the Washington Monument. It's a nice air conditioned building and one of the longest elevator rides.

Here I am at the bottom waiting to get into the elevator.

East side: a nice short of the "Mall" and the capital

North side: The White House....and my personal favorite the EEOB

West side: A glorious shot of the Lincoln Monument and the Potomac

South side: Tidal Basin and Jefferson Monument

There was a little museum up at the top. I really liked this quote.

Out of all the Smithsonian's I'd have to say that the Space Museum is my least favorite. But I must admit that I did enjoy this plane.

Can't forget Amelia Earhart...all over the Smithsonian's they had "Night at the Museum 2" signs to show what was in the movie. This was a popular display.

Thanks to these two gentlemen we were able to fly here.

One thing I think of when I think of DC is Potbelly's. Their ice cream sandwiches were a regular occurrence in my diet. Don't worry I walked a lot so it was ok. It was so wonderful eat another one. I introduced them to my mom and sisters. They know the goodness as well. We want to franchise out west. Sadly the closest one is in Texas.

There is PB's on ever corner practically but this one is kitty corner from the White House.

Fort McHenry was a fun place. We got in free because the visitor center closed when we got there. It was beautiful weather and it's beautiful grounds. You could climb up the wall or walk into little bomb shelters. They even had some of the housing set up that you could walk through. I really liked this place. I can't even imagine the events that took place during the war.

This is where the Star Spangled Banner waved that glorious morning. The flag is much smaller now but there is a great feeling there. I'm proud to be an American.

Kind of a funny face....but wanted to get close to the ocean. I had to climb down a small wall to get there. We tried to get where a wave was splashing up behind, didn't work so well.

Cargo ships, I sat there for almost 20 mins just watching them.

On our way to the beach we had to cross this huge bridge. I'm sure how long it is but it beats the San Fran Golden Gate bridge.

It was a wonderful day to be at the Rehobath Delaware beach. Everyone else thought so too, it was crowded. The water was cold and refreshing, we even saw a jelly fish. Sarah was brave enough to pet it with her foot and in turn it stung her...who knew.

We love to do jumping pictures, especially at the beach. I could never get a normal look on my face. So despite what my face is telling you I was having a fun time.

This is Clarissa, she is a gem. We stayed with and her little family for a couple nights. Sadly I think this was the only picture taken with her. As you can tell I adore her.

This is little Sarah Lynn, an instant friend. She challenged me to Chutes and Ladders...I totally won. She wasn't too happy about that.

As I was trying to run across the beach like "Bay Watch" I twisted my ankle. Sadly thats right when she took the picture.

Jumping again....

Finally success....this expresses the joy I felt that day! I like the shadow too. I have to mention too that this sundress was meant to be worn at the beach.

All the ladies at the beach. We love the beach, we love Rehobeth, we love Delaware, and we love eachother.

So while driving to the beach we saw this sign but decided to stop on the way back. Welcome to Delaware but we are leaving. oh and ps...loved the fact that there wasn't any tax.

Of course we had to get a picture as we were returning to Maryland.

With our trusty GPS we took a detour to Annapolis because Kimberly had never been there. I love that little town, and wouldn't mind taking a man in uniform home with me either.

On our last day we had a tour lined up for the East Wing, thanks to Mary in my office. Long story short we didn't make it to the tour and ended up having to buy new dresses because Hannah got sick on the metro. Yes I'm a really good sister. Luckily Dress Barn had dresses 40% off and they were cute. So in the rest of these pictures I look very fashionable for the city.

I love Washington DC. You have to get every picture possible in front of the Washington Monument.

Strangely enough this was the last picture I took in Washington DC. It's at the Ford's Theatre gift shop. I had fun with it. Lets be honest....it looks creepy.

Oh it was a wonderful trip. I loved having my mom and 2 sisters there. We owe it all to Tana and Von for letting us stay at there place for so long. Von was a wonderful cook, and I can't believe I didn't get a picture with them. Thanks to Clarissa and her husband we were able to get our of the city a little bit and see the sights, and I love to spend time with everyone out there that I met when I lived there for 4 1/2 glorious months 2 years ago. I don't know when I'll return but I've been blessed to return as much as I have. DC will always hold a place in my heart.
