Grad Night with Pres. Clark

Last night it started to sink in that I'm actually graduating.  I'm trying to convince myself that I actually want to graduate.  Although it would difficult at the point to fail my classes, most of the work is already done.  Darn, maybe I could pay one of my teachers....just kidding.  After last night I realized that I need to graduate and start help building the kingdom.

I've been so so so blessed to be able to attend school at this university.  I feel it was tailor made just for me.  All the experiences I've had here have been exactly what I needed.  I wish I could explain more exactly what makes this place so special, but what it comes down to is the "Spirit of Ricks".  You can't describe, you have to feel it or see the effects of it.  Here is a little about BYU-Idaho that I cut out of a program from a musical performance:
"...the school is more than just a facilitator of academic degrees.  BYU-Idaho is a disciple preparation center where students come to better know the Savior by following His example of service and love.  These lessons in discipleship help prepare students for lifelong service in the home, the Church, and the workplace.  A tradition of service, hard work, friendliness, and compassion is being preserved and enhanced throughout the campus community."

Last night President Clark gave some great council that gave me some things to improve and ponder in my life. One of which is, "The distance between you and the world can not stay constat"  We live a remarkable time, but we also live in some very troublesome times.  I have great hope in the future, but I must not set my standards by the world.  As the world is getting darker and darker, the Gospel is becoming more powerful and a great beacon of light.  Where ever I go, I need to be part of that light, share that light and help others radiate that light.  There have been many prophesies about the graduates of BYU-Idaho, I pray that I may live up to those prophesies.  I have learned and discovered many wonderful things up here, but the most important is my testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ.  He is our Redeemer. He came to this earth, lived a perfect life and then Atoned for our sins and transgressions. He has been lower than anyone can ever go.  And He did to glorify His Father.  I know this, I have found out for my self.

It was a great night, it was fun to see all the other graduates.  Especially the people that started the same time I did.  There were 4 of us girls who started our Freshman year living at Kensington, and now we are all graduating together.  It was fun to talk about our Kensington days.  We had fun and continued to have fun as we moved on to other complexes, decided on our majors and grew into beautiful young women.

Theses girls are just a few of the wonderful people I came in contact with while my time here.  I'm sure I will write about some more as my time comes to an end.  10 more days here in my lovely place called Rexburg. May I make the most of it.

Cheers!

Catch a Falling Star.....

...And put it in your pocket. Never Let it Fade Away.

One of my absolute favorite musicals...FOREVER PLAID was playing in Idaho Falls so I didn't even think twice when I bought tickets. I even got front row seats. I love the story line, the music, and it's so so so funny.  I went with my dear friend Hayley, she hadn't seen it before so I talked it up quite a bit.  No worries they didn't disappoint.  I literally was smiling the whole time, my cheeks hurt later that night.

I was even featured during the production.  During the song "Heart and Soul" they sing to a "lady" and I was picked.  I'm sure I was bright red as they were caressing my face and swaying me from side to side.  It was so fun.

If you ever see this show playing near you, go see it.

Don't hate me, but I don't think I was supposed to take this picture....sssshhhh....but enjoy!

As you can see we are quite please with what we are seeing.  "Deeply grateful and Deeply Plaid"

Masquerade Murder Mystery Dinner!

Here Ladies and Gentlemen is the cast for the Masquerade Murder Mystery Dinner. Everyone was a suspect.  The king was murdered, everyone had different clues.  It was so so so so fun.  I was the live in house maid. Nobody knew that I was the kings daughter from a previous love , was having an affair with the cook and I hated his daughter.  We had a great group, everyone played their character wonderfully, and I even guessed who the murder was...the "trusty" attorney.

Hayley and I had so much planning and getting everything ready.  It was a crazy day, but by far my favorite Halloween activity I've ever done.  I believe I will be making this a tradition for Halloween.

Women's Conference....

Here he is Ladies and Gentleman....America's Heart Throb.  What a cutie.  He of all people came and spoke at the Utah Women's Conference.  He was absolutely adorable.

And yes I even got a picture with him.

And it got better as we went through out the day.  Larry Gelwix is the coach for the Highland Rugby team....you might have seen the movie Forever Strong.  He is the master behind that operation.  I loved his workshop, he is doing great things in this world.

Roger Williams who I'm sorry I had never heard of before, but it was so fun to hear him live.  He made the keys sound like butter....well I guess if butter had a sound. It was so so so smoothe.  He's pretty funny too.

But then I was on cloud nine....out walked Mrs. Laura Bush the former First Lady.  I was so so so excited.  She is so fun to listen to.  Because she no longer is the President's wife she spoke out a little bit more.  She even brought a bobble head of herself that her friend found on a clearance rack somewhere.  So so great.

Kind of an awkward picture but as you can see, I'm happy as a clam.

It was a wonderful day with my mom and Hannah.  Hopefully it can become a tradition now.

Belle Bleu....and More Mays

David bought a scooter, we call her Belle Bleu. She's quite the chariot. Here we are, 3 cousins (Sarah was visiting from West Yellowstone) doing what we like to call "three-sies" on Belle. Good times were had by all.
Here we are at Devotional, we are one good looking family! Chelsey is playing Volleyball and is on the Vikings. What a champ.

Signs of the Times....

I just can't get enough of this Fall season. Everyday I just bask in the crisp air and adore the deep, rich Fall colors. I hope you enjoy as well. "Drink it in Marilla"--Anne Shirly

Quote

I got this quote today. I've been thinking a lot about Self Esteem.

The Importance of Self-Esteem

“Self-esteem goes to the very heart of our personal growth and accomplishment. It is the glue that holds together our self-reliance, our self-control, our self-approval or disapproval and keeps all self-defense mechanisms secure. It is a protection against excessive self-deception, self-distrust, self-reproach, and plain old-fashioned selfishness.”

Picture of the week

With it being my last semester I'm trying to make the most of it! I've done so much already that have made it so much fun. So I've decided to have a picture of the week that spotlights something fun that I did.

The first picture is at 5 Guys in Idaho Falls. I fell in love with this place in DC and I'm so happy it's moved out West.
