"Death is not the issue...Living is!"

What an interesting topic to discuss. And I must say that ever since Grandpa May died, I have had a new perspective. I've had the privilege to witness a spirit come into this world, and a spirit leave this world. And when it comes down to it, this life is so short. I'm so blessed to have an eternal perspective.

As I contemplate death, I really get to thinking how have I influenced people's lives? I would hope for the better. I want to leave a person better than I found them. Not to say that I should find people in doom and gloom, but I would hope that I up lift others rather than bring them down. I want to see them as they can become, we all have great potential. Why not treat them as such. Then I think of what I have learned from everyone. If there's any one thing that I have learned this semester is how much people have to share with others, and what you can learn from everyone. While reading the book, "Tuesdays with Morrie" Morrie had such a great attitude, living life to the fullest.

We had a special class when discussing death...Brother Grant set up an scenario that we were being held hostage, only 10 of us could live. We as a class had to choose who would survive. It was difficult, and I found it interesting nobody wanted to be the one to survive. We were all willing to sacrifice. We had people who were married, had children, and whose family depended on them survive. After wards we wrote letters to our families or who ever we were leaving behind....
This is what I wrote:
We have a Savior who Atoned and died for us. We are all children of God. Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The priesthood power is the power of God on the earth today. Families can be together forever. Through the ordinance performed in the temple. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ. He is our Savior and Redeemer. He loves us, so much he suffered for everything we ever did or go through. He is our perfect example. Love--show that love by doing. I know that I am nothing without my Savior. With out the enabling power of the Atonement i am nothing. The Gospel is true. Find out for yourself. Pray. Ask and Listen. you need pure motives and desire. The Lord wants you to com to Him. Show your love for him by loving others. You have to choose. Always choose Christ. I love my Savior. I love the prophet and know he is called of God to serve on the earth at this time. I love my family. My mom and dad have sacrificed so much. and I know they love the Savior. Sarah, Jacob, Cori, Benjamin, Abby, Steve, Hannah, Caleb, and Dinah I love you! Thank you for your love, support, laughs and tears. Know that I want the best for you. Find joy in all things. Choose the Right, be good leaders. Stand up for what is right. Be happy, never pass up an opportunity to make and love a new friend. I love my Savior I owe Him everything. The Gospel is true. Never forget that. Be strong, Stand for truth and always seek for it. I love you. We will be together forever!
